The building is composed of three heterogeneous, perfectly harmonious elements: the Civic Tower (13th century), the main body with its façade designed by Pompeo Floriani in the 16th - 17th century and the loggia built in the 19th century. The entrance hall and inner courtyard house the Lapidarium, including a collection of Roman and medieval finds.
