Mercantis Loggia - Ancona
This building is a symbol of the rush of the doric gate , a meeting point between the East and West.
It was commissioned by the Senate of the Elderly (1392) as a bargaining place for merchandise. The decoration of its high façade in Venetian Floral Gothic style was requested by the architect Giorgio di Matteo da Sebenico. There are three stucco statues inside attributed to Gioacchino Varlè (1784).
