Birds of prey of the Conero
Every year in spring, thousands of raptors fly over Mount Conero
Birds of prey of the Conero
Each year, with the arrival of the spring , the same performance keeps happening: the passage of thousand of birds of prey and other sailplane birds on the Monte Conero. The promontory within the park is effectively one of the fundamental point of reference for the birds of prey that migrate from their winter zone to the european area where to nest.
The Conero is considered, after the Messina’s strait, the second location for importance in Italy for the spring-like migration of the birds of prey from african lands.
The park is included in the national top ten as a place for birdwatching. During April and May it’s possible to take part in an observation camp, organised by the authority of the park, and there you can admire over 1000 birds of prey in just one day. Especially Hawk and Falcons, in addition to sailplane birds like cranes and storks.
No matter if you are ornithologist, birdwatchers, naturalist photographers or you want just enjoy the extraordinary show of the nature… the Park of the Conero is the perfect place to do it!
