“Brodetto”: different recipes for one delicious dish
Marche specialties derived from the tradition of seaside villages
“Brodetto” is a fish specialty of the maritime tradition of the villages in the Conero Riviera. The original recipe calls for nine different types of fresh fish seasoned with extra virgin olive oil but today from Ancona to Porto Recanati you can try many different variations of this specialty.
Porto Recanati jealously guards its recipe that uses “zafferanella”, a wild saffron extract from a plant in the Coneroterritory.
Every summer during the first week of June the “Settimana del Brodetto” takes place in Porto Recanati. It is a culinary event where you can taste this delicious fish dish in one of many featured restaurants.
