Riccioni caves - Osimo
AN INCREDIBLE CITY 'UNDERGROUND
From the Palazzo Leopardi cellars you can access one of the most interesting caves and best preserved of the city: the Riccioni Caves.
Albeit of limited extension, the underground has a very special structure and a rich symbolism of links representing the religious world.
Only the circular room, whose shape star still evokes an aura of mystery and secrecy.
The officiants, seated in the five benches carved into the rock, they could from that position only to hear the voices of others without being able to see his face.
La Grotta, owned by Riccioni family, is not artificially illuminated.
We therefore recommend to bring a flashlight, although the path is always guided.
