Piceno tracks in the Conero Riviera
The Piceni was a population with Italic origins of the 1st millennium A.C., in a delimited area where we can find, nowadays, our region Marche and the northern part of Abruzzo.During the IV century A.C., the Galli population invaded their land by occupying a northern zone that changed then its name into Ager Gallicus. A century afterwards they joined forces with the Romans for the Battle of Sentino, and after that the picenum population started slowly to change its own traditions and habits into Roman ones.

CONTENTS: Room from 10 to 27 and room 32 show the most complete collection of picenum finds in the Marche

CONTENTS: It includes the finds rediscovered during the archeological excavation made in the surrounding area in 1960-1970, included the finds of the Picenum Queen’s grave rediscovered in the “I pini” zone in Sirolo

CONTENTS: It’s the only archeological area in the Marche where you can visit the finds of a picenum necropolis.

Back by popular demand the archaeological walk to Loreto Footprints!
The end of winter the beautiful colors of the Monte Conero attract us even more and we want to learn the secrets of populations that have inhabited in ancient times.
Therefore, we propose a fascinating tour of Numana and Sirolo to discover the Piceni, with a special archaeological visit.
MEETING AND DEPARTURE
9.00 (on time) to the parking lot of Pier Numana.
Basilici accompany Paul and Clare Serenelli.
Participation in this event is reserved for members of Footprints of Loreto (Social Promotion Association affiliated AICS, cost of the card for 2017: € 5).
And book 'necessary to allow for proper organization of the visit to the Antiquarium Museum of Numana at the end of the walk.

Since this is the first release of 2017, participation in the walk is a free offer for existing members and for those who intend to do so before the day of release.
Entrance and guided tour of the Museum are not included in the offer (€ 2 payable directly to staff, free for kids under 18 years old, reduced to 25 years).
Event organized in collaboration with AICS Ancona and with the sponsorship of the Municipality of Loreto.
It is recommended to come equipped with a camera and with clothing and comfortable shoes, bring along a rain jacket in case of rain, water and a snack.
