MUSIC AND GENIUS
City of the accordion and the Italian Unification. Among the hills of the Riviera, the artisans here continue centuries-old traditions.
Standing on the rolling hills of the Conero Riviera, Castelfidardo is home of the accordion, whose sound amuses and attracts listeners.
The Town Hall hosts a museum dedicated to the accordion, where you can admire three hundred and fifty different accordions, as well as some interesting finds such as the first score of “Adios Nonino” by Astor Piazzolla.
HISTORY AND CULTURE
Castelfidardo is a town with a historical and cultural heritage. Here the Piedmontese and the papal armies fought in the battle of Castelfidardo, an important landmark of the Risorgimento.
In memory of this event, a bronze monument by sculptor Vito Pardo was built overlooking a huge beautiful park called “Parco del Monumento” that also hosts a Shrine where the soldiers remains were laid to rest.
The park is also the perfect place to relax and read a book in the shade of the trees.
A VILLA SURROUNDED BY GREEN
5 km from the city centre you can reach the “Selva”, a pristine forest in which stands “Villa Ferretti”, a beautiful villa which dates back to the second half of the eighteenth-century.
Inside the villa you can visit Duca Roberto Ferretti' s personal collections of objects dedicated to the memory of the Ferretti family (including furniture, marble, and drawings), religious art and sacred pieces, and artwork from the Marche Region.
