HISTORY AND CULTURE
Castelfidardo is a town with a historical and cultural heritage. Here the Piedmontese and the papal armies fought in the battle of Castelfidardo, an important landmark of the Risorgimento.
In memory of this event, a bronze monument by sculptor Vito Pardo was built overlooking a huge beautiful park called “Parco del Monumento” that also hosts a Shrine where the soldiers remains were laid to rest.
The park is also the perfect place to relax and read a book in the shade of the trees.
A VILLA SURROUNDED BY GREEN
5 km from the city centre you can reach the “Selva”, a pristine forest in which stands “Villa Ferretti”, a beautiful villa which dates back to the second half of the eighteenth-century.
Inside the villa you can visit Duca Roberto Ferretti' s personal collections of objects dedicated to the memory of the Ferretti family (including furniture, marble, and drawings), religious art and sacred pieces, and artwork from the Marche Region.
