The Tower - Numana
Ancient 14th-century Roman arch
Ancient 14th-century Roman arch that was destroyed during World War I and was once used as a watchtower.
The arch is on the top of the promontory of Numana overlooking the port and is all that remains of the bell tower of a long-gone church or a watchtower after an earthquake in 1930. It was originally used as an outpost to prevent pirate attacks from the Adriatic Sea.
